On 6 April 2010 a number of important pieces of legislation are due
to be implemented which will impact upon employers. As we reported
in the last edition of our newsletter, the current sick note system is to
be replaced with the new statement of fitness to work (“Fit notes”).
In addition, new legislation will mean employers with more than 250 employees will be obliged to consider employees’ requests for time
off for the purposes of study or training.
