Corporate Finance Team continues expansion

East Midlands law firm, Flint Bishop, is continuing the expansion of its corporate finance team with the promotion of Gavin White to head of corporate finance, Nottingham and the appointment of new partner Ran Oren as head of corporate finance, Derby.

The two will work closely together to sustain the department’s growth across the East Midlands. Gavin will have a particular responsibility for Nottingham while Ran will concentrate on capitalizing on the potential of the Derby market.

With the strength of presence in both the Nottingham and Derby markets, Flint Bishop’s corporate finance team is now clearly one of the key players within the East Midlands. It has a strong track record of advising the region’s businesses and supporting all types of deals including MBOs and buy-ins, mergers & acquisitions and finance transactions.

Commenting on his promotion and the potential of the East Midlands market, Gavin said: “Recent months have seen our team work on increasingly significant high value deals, typified by the restructuring of Serif Group Ltd. Our goal is to build on this platform and continue expanding both our team and our offering in the East Midlands market place.

“We believe there is a great deal of potential. While the current economic climate is anything but certain there are still good deals to be done and, by offering a personal, partner-led service we believe we are well placed to capitalize on the potential.”

“I am really excited to be returning to the East Midlands and by the opportunities ahead of us at Flint Bishop,” said Ran. “The East Midlands is a vibrant region, home to a broad range of experienced professionals and very successful businesses. Our mission is to build on the corporate team’s strong ambition, continued success and respected reputation by working closely with the region's businesses and professionals, developing strong, mutually beneficial relationships. We will also double our efforts to make sure we fully understand the needs of our clients and are well placed to provide them with valuable support and advice, particularly on transactional matters.”

Ken Dixon, senior partner at Flint Bishop said: “We are excited about the potential ahead of the corporate finance team, with Gavin and Ran at the helm. We have done a number of significant deals in recent months and I believe they will now be able to progress the team to a new level of challenging work.”

Both Gavin and Ran have committed to Flint Bishop because of the firm’s reputation and style. With a flexible and innovative approach to the needs of its clients, Flint Bishop has a clear commitment to delivering excellence to businesses and owner managers in the East Midlands and nationally, with a number of recent instructions emanating from London.

Gavin joined Flint Bishop in 2006. Prior to this he was a senior associate with HJB Gateley Wareing.

Ran began his career at national law firm Eversheds, where he specialized in corporate and banking work. He worked in the corporate finance department of Flint Bishop for three years before moving to Clyde & Co, working primarily with London and international clients.
