Testimonials
We’re exceptionally proud that our reputation is based on word of mouth recommendations, not to mention testimonials from happy clients. In fact, Flint Bishop has also received accolades from both its peers and the legal press.
Our 47 per cent increase in turnover during 2006 (from £8.8 million to £13 million) placed us squarely in The Lawyer’s rising 50 listings. In recognition of this performance – all achieved through organic and targeted growth – Managing Partner, Ken Dixon also secured a place in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 Management category.
The firm also features prominently in the Legal 500 listings – the world’s largest legal referral guide. Here, independent researchers gather opinion on law firms and create an independent directory of leading law firms which is then used as a reference by businesses and individuals seeking legal services.
The full legal 500 guide can be accessed by clicking in this link [Legal 500 Recommendations], however, the following are exerts about Flint Bishop:
Corporate & Commercial – Nottingham & Derby
While the former industrial city of Derby is only 16 miles west of Nottingham, the two cities retain their own separate legal markets. Derby heavyweights such as Flint Bishop have crossed the M1 in recent years to set up shop in Nottingham, but the arrival of such firms in Nottingham is testament to the fact that both Derby and Nottingham-based businesses remain fiercely loyal to their local law firms. A presence on each side of the M1 is therefore seen as vital to gain a toehold in both markets.
Commercial property: Nottingham and Derby - East Midlands
'The levels of professionalism are unrivalled' at Flint Bishop, where Senior Partner Ian Beardmore runs a large team of six partners. The firm continues to attract high-quality work in the Derby area, handling a major relocation to Pride Park for Derby College in 2005, and is also stretching its wings further afield, for example advising on the second phase of a £75m business park in Wolverhampton.
Licensing
In 2005 Flint Bishop was appointed as sole UK adviser to the tenanted arm of Marstons PLC (formerly Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries). The firm has also cornered a significant slice of the Derbyshire licensing market.

Flint Bishop stands out for its work on behalf of trade unions; the Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians, the Derbyshire Group Staff Union and the Professional Association of Teachers all use the firm for personal injury work. Managing Partner Ken Dixon is recommended.

Flint Bishop is a new entrant to the table this year, with Zaf Bashir, who specialises in claims against solicitors, and Qamer Ghafoor among the individuals active in the field. Six partners at the firm are members of the Professional Negligence Lawyers' Association.
