Flint Bishop Solicitors are celebrating further successes after its Debt Collection department secured another award win, at the home of Europe’s largest credit community CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) for the ‘Third Party Debt Collection Team of the Year’ category, then going on to be highly commended in ‘Legal Team of the Year’ for their contribution in credit management.
The awards took place in The Brewery, London on Wednesday 10th February. This award win means that Derby’s largest independent law firm has won all three nationally recognised awards within CICM, Credit Today and the Credit Collection and Risk awards.
The debt recovery department is led by one of only a handful of elite lawyers in the region and an owner of the firm, Qamer Ghafoor. In the last eighteen months, the team has gone from strength to strength and have secured major client wins from nationally recognised, well-known brands such as Autoglass, Office Depot and Costcutter, to name a few. Not only have they been nominated for nine highly regarded awards in the last twelve months, they are acting on new markets within unregulated B2B sectors, which have been historically dominated by DCAs.
The cost of recoveries is also at an all-time high and the firm have been putting processes in place to avoid the cost of court proceedings, which is also a contributing factor to its success.
Qamer Ghafoor, Managing Partner of Commercial Services and Head of Litigation comments “The CICM is amongst one of the most prestigious and largest associations specifically for the credit industry, so we are delighted to be presented with the ‘Third Party Debt Collection Team of the Year’ award and the commendation in the ‘Legal Team of the Year’ categories.
We have had an extremely successful year and the firm continues to increase in both workload and staff size. We are recruiting in almost all areas of the business, with new projects in the pipeline. This is only our start of the plans for 2016 and I’m confident this will be a great year for Flint Bishop.”
