Leading Derby law firm, Flint Bishop, has been announced as a new associate sponsor of the Derbyshire Building Society 10k run.
The event, which is now in its tenth year, is taking place on Sunday 3 April 2011 and is organised by Derby-based charity Sporting Futures, which uses sport to reach out to young people and help them gain life skills.
As one of the event’s major sponsors, Flint Bishop branding will appear on the jackets worn by the 200 volunteers on the day. The starting areas of the race will be named ‘Flint Bishop Entertainment Square’ and the finishing area will be called ‘Flint Bishop Concourse’.
The 10k race will start at Pride Park Stadium and participants will pound the city centre streets before returning to the stadium to cross the finishing line. This will be followed by a 3k family fun run.
Speaking about Flint Bishop’s involvement in next year’s event, Sarah Clarke, director of Sporting Futures, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Flint Bishop on board as one of our new associate sponsors for the 2011 10k race.
“This is a fantastic event for Derby; you can be a first-time runner or train for years and still have a great time and we would like to thank Flint Bishop for their support.”
Commenting on their sponsorship of next year’s event, Ken Dixon, managing partner at Flint Bishop said:
“Flint Bishop is keen to support as many community events as possible and we are pleased to be involved in such an important event for the city. The 10k run is hugely popular and we look forward to seeing members of our team taking part in next year’s race.”
Organisers are hoping to attract 3,500 participants in the 10k run, with another 2,000 taking part in the 3k family fun run.
