Since the start of 2015, in addition to two promotions from associate solicitor to partner, we have invested in a number of new staff hires in a recruitment drive which is set to increase our workforce by more than 21%.

Lorna Trueman, who joined us in 2010, has been promoted to become a partner in our Dispute Resolution team. With over 10 years of litigation experience, Lorna acts for several large multi-national companies, dealing with high-value and complex claims. She sits within one of the biggest litigation teams in the Midlands and the quality of client wins and work the team takes on continues to improve year-on-year.

Jonathan Gilbert has also been promoted to become a partner in our Insurance team. He has been with the firm for over 23 years and has amassed immense experience in his specialist area during this time. He acts for well-known brands, motor insurers and government bodies, defending hundreds of technical claims each year.

Both Lorna and Jonathan report directly to Qamer Ghafoor. He comments on their promotion:

“The promotion of Lorna and Jonathan builds on that success and is in recognition of their first class technical expertise, client service and leadership qualities.”

We also promoted five members of staff to from solicitor to associate solicitor positions this summer, which were marked at our staff annual general meeting, bringing all of our 150 employees together at Derby Quad earlier this month. Andrew Cochrane commented on these promotions;

“We are delighted with the new round of associate solicitor promotions this year and pride ourselves in recognising talent. All employees should be very proud of their achievements to date. We are fortunate enough to be surrounded by some of the region’s most talented lawyers and support staff, which is why, in the coming months, we will be rolling out a number of new programmes to support all employees in their career development plans.”
