Flint Bishop offers its second entrepreneur programme to the City, this time to students of Derby College.
The Entrepreneur Lounge, which is being run as part of the Entrepreneur Academy, is taking place as a series of six interactive workshops broken down into six key topics. The programme will cover strategy, development and testing, marketing and PR, legal implications, operations and polishing a business plan.
Flint Bishop is the preferred partner of the college to provide legal expertise and support for the Entrepreneur Lounge and will deliver the fourth instalment of advice on 25 March, with a view to supporting the students throughout their journey. The learners will then be invited to pitch for investment to the pioneer platform, set for Wednesday 20 May.
The law firm already has already an established platform with Derby University with their Derby University Network of Entrepreneurs.
The dedicated team, under the project name, ‘Create & Connect‘ offers support specifically for fledgling start-ups. The aim is to create business and connect people through Flint Bishop’s network of established contacts.
Claire Tonks, Commercial Contracts Partner at Flint Bishop, who is leading the project, said “We’re delighted to be offering another platform to enable to the development of these start-up businesses. We recognise that start-ups are the lifeblood of the economy and it is vital that they can access the right support from the outset to succeed.
Our offering to both Derby College and Derby University means that we’re able to incubate start up businesses from the initial idea until they are ready for the Connect Derby team. The Derby College Entrepreneurs Lounge enables me to give something back to the community as part of the college’s Entrepreneur Academy Initiative. I am very much looking forward to being a part of the team and working with the other partners on this programme.”
