Over 60 local business people took part in Sporting Future’s annual Corporate Cup Golf Tournament last week and helped raise over £3000 for the Derby charity.
Derby law firm Flint Bishop helped organize and promote the tournament to clients and contacts in the local business sector, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the charity.
Held at Chevin private members Golf Club in Duffield, the 4BBB Golf Tournament was enjoyed by all the players, including a team from Derbyshire County Cricket Club which won the Cup trophy.
Tournament prizes included Home game hospitality for 4 people at Derby County Football Club and golf equipment. Raffle prizes included Lessons with a Pro Golfer at Horsley Lodge Golf Club, a signed Derbyshire County Cricket Club bat and a signed Derby County Football Club football.
The monies raised will go towards helping young people from some of the most disadvantaged areas of Derbyshire improve their futures through regular sporting activities and get involved in their local communities.
Stuart Felce, Director of Sporting Futures, says: “We would like to thank all the businesses for coming along and taking part in what was an enjoyable day for all involved. We are sincerely thankful for all the money raised which will enable us to provide more sport sessions for young people throughout the county.” Stuart added, “We are thankful for the ongoing support from Flint Bishop who helped make this event a success.”
Ian Beardmore, Senior Partner at Flint Bishop says: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that played in the Golf Tournament. We know Sporting Futures is making a difference to young people in our communities and we are really looking forward to supporting them in next year’s Golf Day.”
