Whether you are at school / college looking for work experience or at university looking a training contract, we offer something for everyone looking for a career in law.
You will work in a challenging and rewarding environment whilst gaining exposure to a wide range of legal business. Training contracts are split into four six month seats in our Derby office. From day one you will have an assigned training partner and regular feedback sessions with your head of department. We provide in-house training from fee earners to help develop all the skills needed to become a successful solicitor. As well as the internal training, our trainees are enrolled on the PSC course with a highly regarded external course provider.
Trainees are very much part of the team and are encouraged to get involved with marketing events. Organisations you can get involved with include Network DE1, Derby Young Lawyers and the Junior Lawyers Division, helping you build relationships with other young professionals.

In addition, you will have the confidence to get involved with all aspects of firm life, an 'I can do' attitude and a willingness to contribute to corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Following the first interview successful candidates will be invited to a selection day. The selection day will comprise of a second interview, you’ll be asked to deliver a presentation and take part in group tasks. There will also be a tour of the firm and a chance to get together with some of the partners, newly qualified solicitors and the current trainees over lunch. Offers will be made to the successful candidates shortly after the selection day.
