Flint Bishop shines as one of the most diverse firms in the UK

Leading Midlands law firm, Flint Bishop, has been recognised for its commitment to inclusivity after reaching the top three in three separate categories in the 2009 Diversity League Table.
Now in its fourth year, the Diversity League Table, which is produced by the Black Solicitors Network (BSN), looks at the diversity charters of some of the UK’s leading firms, ranking them in key areas before compiling the various tables, which form the overall Diversity League Table.
A total of 180 firms were invited to take part in the 2009 survey, including the UK Top 150 and 30 leading international firms.
Flint Bishop ranked first for the number of its female associates (75%), second in the number of its ethnic minority trainees (33.33%) and third for the proportion of female partners that it employs (36.36%).
As well as the main themes of gender and ethnicity, for the first time, the 2009 report captured data on LGB and disabled employees. This is also the first year that barristers' chambers have taken part.
Commenting within this year’s report, the Rt. Hon Baroness Scotland QC, the Attorney General said:
“I would like to congratulate those firms and chambers who took part in the Diversity League Table. They have demonstrated their commitment to equality and diversity and to being transparent with how well they are performing in this area.”
