Ken qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and spent most of his early career as a personal injury litigator with Manchester based Amelans; joining Flint Bishop as an assistant solicitor in 1992.
After three years with the firm Ken was made partner and subsequently head of personal injury litigation. There he gained considerable experience in all areas of company & commercial work from the transactional (acquisitions and disposals) through to commercial contracts and non-contentious intellectual property advice.
David now concentrates on advising a wide range of clients (from sole traders to multi-national corporations) and all aspects of contractual work from supply agreements to agency, distribution and outsourcing and he has a particular interest and expertise in IT related matters.
Together with advising on specific matters David regularly provides training and seminars on contract law and intellectual property both to clients and students at Staffordshire and Keele universities.
When not at work David enjoys reading, playing his guitar, watching and playing football. He is also an avid social networker building his profile at LinkedIn and a mentor to students at Staffordshire University on the SPEED and EFS Schemes as well as an active member of Amnesty International.

Helen is a commercial barrister. She joined Flint Bishop in April 2012, having spent the previous five years practising at the independent bar in London. There she gained considerable experience in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution including agency, contract disputes, finance litigation, and professional negligence.
Helen has full rights of audience before all courts in England and Wales. She is a strong advocate and represents clients at all stages of litigation.
In addition to representing clients at court, Helen is recognised for providing prompt, commercial advice for businesses and individuals alike.

Having qualified and trained at two firms in the East Midlands, I left Nottingham to join Shepherd Building Group (one of the Country’s largest family owned construction and engineering businesses), where I worked for the construction arm; Shepherd Construction Limited.
I worked at Shepherd Construction Limited’s Head office in York for nearly 7 years (in August 2006), leaving eventually in the role of Pre-Contract Negotiations Director, following which I joined Flints as Partner and Head of Construction and Engineering.
I have worked on a mix of low and high value bespoke projects and disputes over my 14 year career in construction, advising Developers, Contractors, Education Institutes, Associations Sub-Contractors, Consultants, Funders and Bondsmen.
