Flint Bishop Solicitors are delighted to support e4e (Enterprise 4 Education), an exciting public private sector partnership, which aims to link students around Derby with organisations across the region, with the sole purpose of raising young people’s aspirations, improve employability skills and to provider a larger pool of talent.
Flint Bishop has pledged support across three areas of the business.
Sian Williams started at Flint Bishop as a trainee Solicitor in 2003 and quickly shot up the ranks, making Associate in 2012. Sian advises on a range of employment law related issues for both SME and large national organisations who typically employ over 1,000 members of staff. Sian is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is well known to the region after hosting many employment law seminars throughout the Midlands.
Laura Evans is an Employment law Associate and has been at the firm for eight years. Laura is responsible for Employment law across both the Education offering at the firm, as well as a client base of commercial clients. Laura is a board member of Deda and has recently completed a qualification in Education and Training with Derby College.
Claire Rudkin is a Partner and is the Head of Wills and Probate. Claire is responsible for one of the largest Wills departments in the region. Claire was schooled in Derby and attended Derby University. Claire was made Partner six years ago after a four year stint as a Solicitor in the department. Claire is one of only a few ‘leading lawyers’ in the region, an accolade given by one of the leading law firm directories, Chambers and Partners.
Zoe Dowthwaite joined Flint Bishop in 2012. Due to the success of a variety of marketing campaigns, Zoe was made Head of Marketing in January 2016. Zoe is the youngest Head of Department at the firm and began her career in marketing in 2010, after a move from the financial sector, where she was training to be an accountant. Zoe has since completed many recognised qualifications and leads a team of highly experienced marketers responsible for all twelve areas of law, across two sites.
Each of the volunteers has pledged support in a wide range of areas including mentoring, CV writing, mock interviews and giving talks within local schools.
Senior Partner, Andrew Cochrane comments “e4e is a fantastic movement organised by Derby City Council, which I’m delighted Flint Bishop is a part of. Not only will we be inspiring local students to be the best that they can be, each of our volunteers have committed to supporting e4e (Enterprise for Education) for the next twelve months.
They each have very different educational backgrounds and routes to success and I’m confident that our students will be inspired by their stories.
I wish Sian, Laura, Claire and Zoe all the very best.”
