Flint Bishop News
Derby solicitors Flint Bishop LLP has been named the most diverse law firm in the UK for the number of female associates it employs, according to this year’s Black Solicitors Network Diversity League Table (DLT).
Now in its eight year, the Diversity League Table is the legal profession’s leading diversity publication. Sponsored by The Law Society, it reviews the mix of ethnicity, gender, lesbian/gay/bisexual (LGB) and disabled employees in the UK’s Top 150 firms and 30 leading international firms with bases in the UK. This year, 71 UK law firms and chambers participated in the DLT.
The Diversity League Table says: “In each year, the proportion of female associates in our sample of firms tends to vary between approximately one-third at the bottom of the rankings, to about three-quarters at the top. This year we have a spread that is just slightly above this at the top, with women making up 76.32% of associates in top-place firm Flint Bishop LLP. Congratulations to Flint Bishop for retaining this top spot for the second year running.”
Flint Bishop was also ranked in 3rd place for the number of ethnic minority (EM) partners it employs.
The DLT says: “In third place is Flint Bishop, which has made significant strides in increasing ethnic diversity among partners since last year.”
In addition, Flint Bishop was ranked one of the Top 10 law firms for the number of female partners it employs.
These top rankings are even more of an accomplishment considering the average firm analysed by the DLT has 454 fee earners, whereas Flint Bishop has only 99.
Flint Bishop’s managing partner at Flint Bishop, says: “These rankings are an important reflection that we are committed to diversity at every level within our firm and we are very pleased to see we measure up so well against the UK’s other leading firms.”
