Flint Bishop News… Diversity League Table
Flint Bishop LLP employs more female associates than any other UK law firm according to the latest Black Solicitors Network Diversity League Table (DLT).
Sponsored by The Law Society, the DLT is the legal profession’s premier diversity publication. Now in its seventh year, it is an annual analysis of ethnicity and gender diversity in law firms. It also covers the percentages of disabled and lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) employees in firms. 50 UK and international firms with UK bases participated in the League Table.
Flint Bishop was also found to employ more ethnic minority (EM) trainees than the other firms analysed.
The DLT says: “Flint Bishop once again come top…with 50% of their trainees from an ethnic minority background…The translation of EM trainees into greater representation at the highest levels of practice is a key factor in improving representation across the profession. In this respect it is worth commending Flint Bishop”.
The Derby law firm also came 3rd in the UK for the overall number of female and ethnic minority partners, associates and trainees it employs.
The DLT says: “Flint Bishop ranks highly because of a combination of gender diversity of associates and ethnic diversity of trainees, coupled with a Top 15 ranking for practitioners in both areas of diversity”.
What is more, Flint Bishop achieved Top 10 rankings for employing disabled staff and, for the last three years running, ethnic minority partners.
These rankings are a significant achievement given that the average firm involved in the table has 447 fee earners, whereas Flint Bishop has only 98.
Managing partner at Flint Bishop, commented: “These rankings are an important independent reflection of our continued commitment to diversity in the workplace. We are very pleased to have ranked so highly for many of the key diversity categories”.
