On Wednesday 22nd April, Derby University will be hosting its second instalment of DUNE, which includes networking with budding entrepreneurs and businesses in the region.
The event, which takes place at Igors, iPro Stadium, promises to be a great opportunity and runs from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. It will give students and local businesses the chance to network and meet leading local and national entrepreneurs.
The overall aim of the programme is to:
- Create links and bonds between local, national and international entrepreneurs and students at the University that want to start up a business or have an entrepreneurial spirit;
- Create awareness of the support mechanisms that the University and supporters/sponsors can offer to entrepreneurs; and
- Increase students’ networking, interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge of real world business set up.
Our guest speaker is well known entrepreneur, Dean Jackson, who runs the Derby based wetsuit company, Huub Design. Their company now proudly sponsor athletes including triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, para-triathlete Phil Hogg, as well as celebrities such as F1 Driver, Jenson Button.
Whether you are a student looking for support or an international organisation – this event caters for all. It helps the community thrive and give something back to the people that need support early on in their journey. Whether that is through mentoring, sponsorship and sharing skills or links.
